Hopefully, things are back in full swing here at Prêt à Revi quarters. And we’re starting off with the very exciting The Body Shop Body Yogurts.

My skin has become drier this winter, and though I’m coastal bound, I’ve noticed the change visibly. Dry skin is a no-no for me and it’s a running joke in the family that I constantly have lotion with me at any time. Arriving just in time, the Body Yogurts are available in a number of variants and I’ll have to admit, I am attracted to scents so that was a major factor in my purchasing decision. Hence, was this just another body lotion, butter or moisturiser termed “Body Yogurt” and more importantly, would it match the claim?

After purchasing the Mango and British Rose variants, I can tell you that this isn’t a tactfully named body lotion to increase sales. This has indeed a different texture, the scent is true and it feels lightweight on my skin. Usually, I find most body moisturisers or lotions quite greasy but this applies on well with no extra residue. I had put the “fast-absorbing” claims to the test on first use, one application and it soaked effortlessly into my skin. My hands, in particular, dry out throughout the day, so I usually have a hand cream near me at all times. But I didn’t feel the need to apply more product throughout the day.

It is definitely fast-absorbing. Have you also noticed that The Body Shop packaging, in general, has also been jazzed up, I really loved that these came in chic tubs which are quite reusable (to store bobby pins, cotton swabs etc.) They seem to be honing in on a few select variants across their range, so I am excited to see what they have in store for us. It’s been a while since I last reviewed any of The Body Shop products which you can read here, though these are great additions to my body care section, I am keen on trying out the other variants soon.

Retailed at R140,00, these are a luxuriously affordable item that I would highly recommend for our dry South African winters – but I have used the Mango Body Yogurt now five or six times (full body use) and have just touched halfway. They are also currently on sale from Clicks at R112,00. My only gripe? They currently are only available in 200ml and I wish they came in bigger sizes!
